As Director of the REACH Center, Nick Bayard leads teams that operate Pierce County’s only rapid rehousing program for youth and young adults, the City of Tacoma’s flagship youth employment program, Summer Jobs 253, and career development and life skills training for over 2,000 youth and young adults each year. Prior to his time at REACH, Nick was a lead developer for the More Than Me all-girls Academy in Monrovia, Liberia and led efforts to scale up a Washington, DC-based early childhood education model—Every Child Ready—that closes the achievement gap in pre-literacy, pre-math, and social-emotional skills before kindergarten. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay and researcher at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Nick is active in the Greater Tacoma community as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 299 and one of two at-large members of Pierce County's Performance Audit Committee. He is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Brown University and Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
